If you love local sports, you've come to the right spot.
I'm Tyler Korby, a 25-year-old UMD journalism graduate and now a weekly sports reporter for the Cloquet Pine Journal. Basically, sports are my life. And growing up around the Northland, I have a true passion for them. I try show that through my writing.
Although I report weekly, that wasn't enough. I wanted more. I wanted to bring this area more. The more sports, the better. With this day and age getting more technologically advanced, I figured a blog would be a neat idea. So, Beyond the Sports Page was born.
As some of you know, I tried this blog a year ago. But being a coach, official and sports journalist, life can get busy. This time around, I have a few new ideas, involving not just this blog, but the ever-popular Facebook and even, Twitter. Maybe.
At this site, not only will you find professional journalism and first-class coverage of all your local sports squads in the Carlton County area, but I'll also throw in my thoughts, opinions and observations as I roam the county from event to event. In addition to loads of content, I'll have handfuls of available sports links to discover, while the arts of this area's many sports photographers will be credited in enhancing your sports splurge. Thanks guys.
You'll likely see me in attendance in all sorts of venues, from gyms, fields and even swimming pools. Yes, swimming pools. I will promise to give you my best efforts in bringing you readers the best local sports coverage around. And though my elite sports mind will be shown from time to time, I'll guarantee if you want the inside scoop on sports, this is the place to be.
Like I said before, if you love local sports, you've come to the right spot. So scroll around, sit back, and soak in some sports.
Let me do the work. That's my job. That's what I love.
